If you are an unbeliever in that story, you can just enjoy this waterfall so how it is.

Snæfellsjökull is, where Juses Verne placed the entrance to the center of the Earth. Therefore it is one of the most known and popular placest in Iceland.
More to it, Snæfellsjökull is the only glacier in Iceland you can hike and climb without expedition equipment. And where the probability that you´d come back alive exceeds 5% as with all the others Icelandic glaciers. HOWEVER, that does not mean, that you should not be cautious nor that there is no danger at all.

Dynjandi (“thunderous”) (a.k.a. Fjallfoss “mountain waterfall”) is the most monumental of the Icelandic waterfalls and the pearl of the Westfjords. Dynjandi is not the most visited or admired of Icelandic waterfalls only because it is so far away from the main touristic routes in Iceland. Many of the everything-in-a-week tourists do not want to spend extra days in the Westfjords and waste time traveling on its dirt roads. However, if you want to experience the real unspoiled Icelandic nature, you still can here. You have to earn this waterfall and for sure it will reward you. Dynjandi is unforgettable. Trust me.
Additionally, as a bonus to Dynjandi, you´ll get another 7 different waterfalls downstream from Dynjandi. They are: Bæjarfoss, Hundafoss, a bit away is Kvíslarfoss, then Hrísvaðsfoss, Göngumannafoss, the more than 20 meter tall Strompgljúfrafoss and finally Hæstahjallafoss.

This campsite is located in a beautiful valley Tungudalur (hence the name). It is perfectly equipped with kitchen (electric kettle, electric stove, micro oven, toaster), showers (in price included), washing machine and dryer, barbecue area and nice view of. This is a perfect starting point for many treks and hikes through a beautiful nature, f.e. just up the stream of the Buná river which flow through the campsite to the Bunárfoss waterfall and further up the hill. There is a beach volleyball field here, but I do not know if it is a part of the camp or not. You have to ask.

One of Icelandic wonders this Hraunfossar lava waterfall is. The water originates in the Langjökull glacier and flows under the surface of the Hallmundarhraun lava field. It pours within 900 meters to the river Hvítá.
Hraunfossar in not just a waterfall, it is natural revelation.
How to find Hraunfossar:
From the Ring Road take the road nr. 50 and then road nr. 518. Road nr. 523 is gravel road (there are some geothermal pools along the way too), so you might not like it.
There is a road nr. 550 from Þingvellir (which converts into F550 – but is passable with 2WD). Once you reach road nr. 518 (you can have a stop by Rúfoss too), just turn left and Hraunfossar is just kilometers (miles) away.

Öxarárfoss waterfall in Þingvellir National park is one of these waterfalls which wont be the reason of your journey to Iceland, but it makes the landscape so beautiful. Probably the most interesting thing about this waterfall is, that the water falls from the North Atlantic tectonic plate and you can watch it from the European tectonic plate.
Öxarárfoss waterfall is situated directly in the Þingvellir National Park. Öxarárfoss is accessible only by foot and it is 800 meters (half a mile) from the nearest parking lot.
